Their love of nature lives on through The Scott Mission Summer Camp

Until their passing, Harry and Adele Kohane had a deep love for the beauty of Canada’s great outdoors. That”€™s why they chose to leave a legacy gift that will ensure the love of nature is instilled in the children and youth who attend The Scott Mission’s Summer Camp this summer and in the years to come.

No stranger to hardship, Harry Kohane was a Holocaust survivor who met his beloved Adele in a displaced persons camp in Austria after the war. Fleeing hunger, homelessness, and unemployment, the Kohanes arrived in Canada with just $8 between them. They were married in Toronto and enjoyed 65 years of marriage.

The Scott Mission is thankful for the friendship and generosity of the Kohane family, and is proud to carry out
their legacy among the boys and girls we serve each day, and especially through our summer camp each year.
