Volunteers are a big part of what makes The Scott Mission a place where help in a time of great need can be found. Jack is one of those who chooses to give through both his financial support and his time, bringing hope into the hearts of people who are lost, broken, or beaten down by life.
When Jack retired from a long, successful business career, he began to volunteer his time and energy to causes he believed in. Recognizing that a great many families and individuals in greater Toronto struggle with hunger each day, The Scott Mission was high on Jack’s list.
Jack’s tireless efforts in support of our food bank and food distribution have been a huge help in The Scott Mission’s commitment to those who are hungry and in need. But Jack would be the first to tell you that he received every bit as much as he gave. “The atmosphere at The Scott Mission is healthy and palpable. People are caring and welcoming,” Jack says. “It’s quite inspiring!
“The Scott Mission represents what we should be doing— helping people!”
Knowing that a great many families and individuals battle hunger each day, Jack volunteered his services and expertise to help The Scott Mission’s food pantry reach even more of our neighbours in need.
