Did you know that when you support The Scott Mission, your support is enriching the lives of our community’s children, teens, and families?
It’s true! Just ask Taejun . . .
Eight years old and full of energy, Taejun has been attending Scott Mission Camp since he was just a preschooler, and almost all of his favourite memories are from his experiences with our camp, the counsellors, and the many friends he has made over the years.
“All my friends come to camp and then each year I meet new ones, too,” Taejun says.
“I love learning about God and also love swimming, basketball, and riding bikes. I like Bible study and talking about how Jesus died on the cross for me.”
Taejun is a little too young to understand that donor support is what makes Scott Mission Camp available to approximately 600 children each year for both summer camp and winter youth retreats at our Caledon location, but he is truly grateful for the opportunity to attend each year and recognizes that the experiences are helping him to grow in his faith.
“We come to family camp, too,” Taejun says, thrilled that his mom, brother, and sister can share in the many wonderful camp and faith-building activities that he loves so much.
All Taejun’s camp counsellors agree that one day this young man will aspire to take our Foundations leadership training. This training is designed to equip him to help other boys and girls make Scott Mission Camp a character-building experience that truly lays the foundation for a faith-fueled life. Until then, he is practicing by sharing what he’s learning with his mother and younger siblings.
