Volunteers are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 if working at 346 Spadina Avenue but vaccination is no longer required for other locations.

Individual Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in the Scott Mission!

Our volunteers play a big role in many of our ministries, and are vital to the meaningful impact we have in transforming lives within our community.

There are many ways you can help!

Please note that there is a process to becoming an individual volunteer.
This includes:

Volunteer placements are subject to availability and we will follow-up where needs match.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process but are confident that, once on board, you will have a fulfilling volunteer experience with us.

Please take a look at our current opportunities:

Helping in the Kitchen

Prepare and serve hot meals for people in need through a variety of programs daily from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Food and Clothing Bank

Sort and bag food and clothing for the Food Bank and clothing rooms. Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Bagged Lunches

Set up work area, greet recipients in a friendly manner and distribute bag lunches to all in need. Monday to Friday from 3:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Overnight Shelter

Responsibilities include : setting up beds, serving dinner and providing general assistance and Christian fellowship for men who stay at The Scott Mission’s 72-bed shelter. Volunteers must be over 18 years old. The Scott Mission conducts a criminal reference check for Overnight Shelter volunteers. Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Volunteering as a Group

Please be advised that we will not be able to have group volunteers join us until approximately May 2023.
